Fall 2026 Group Fitness Class Passes Have a New Look!

We’ve updated our Group Fitness Class Passes for the upcoming semester with new names that better reflect the variety of classes offered.

  • Premier Pass (formerly All Access Pass)$299
    Access to Mind & Body, Cycling, Strength & Motion, and exclusive Premier Classes.
  • Cycling Pass$119
    Access to all Cycling Classes.
  • Mind & Body Pass (formerly Yoga Pass)$129
    Access to yoga, stretching, mat Pilates, and other mind-body focused classes.
  • Strength & Motion Pass (formerly GroupX Pass)$149
    Access to strength-based, cardio, movement, and dance classes.

Passes go on sale Thursday, August 27th. Passes provide access to classes August 27th - December 22nd. 

Use promo code “fall2026” at checkout to receive 20% off your Group Fitness Class Pass. This promo code may be used once per member. Promo code expires September 20th. 

While the names have changed, the goal remains the same: providing flexible options so you can choose the classes that best fit your interests and fitness goals.

Group Fitness Classes FAQ

Group Fitness Classes and programming are designed with the general population in mind.  Whether you are just beginning your fitness journey or are a seasoned fitness participant, modifications, and variations are provided to create an energetic, welcoming, challenging, yet inclusive atmosphere. Group Fitness Classes are offered in the “drop-in” style where you participants can attend sessions at their discretion without fear or consequence of missing skills or lessons from previous classes. 

To register for a Group Fitness Class, participants must be a current PWG member and purchase one of the following Group Fitness Class Passes:

1-Week/Trial Access Pass

  • This pass provides access to all Group Fitness Classes, including Mind & Body, Cycling, and Strength & Motion, for one week. It may also be used as a free trial for Group Fitness Classes.
  • Participants must have an active PWG Membership to enter Payne Whitney Gym. Yale Conference Services memberships are not eligible for the free trial.
  • To use this pass as a free trial, enter promo code “tryit” at the time of purchase. This code may only be redeemed once per member.

Semester Passes

  • Premier Pass (formerly All Access Pass): Provides access to all Mind & Body (formerly Yoga), Cycling, and Strength & Motion (formerly GroupX) classes for the duration of the pass, as well as access to exclusive Premier Classes offered throughout the semester.
  • Cycling Pass: Provides access to all Cycling Classes for the duration of the pass.
  • Mind & Body Pass (formerly Yoga Pass): Provides access to Mind & Body Classes, including a variety of yoga, stretching, and mat Pilates classes, for the duration of the pass.
  • Strength & Motion Pass (formerly GroupX Pass): Provides access to Strength & Motion Classes, including a variety of strength-based, cardio, movement, and dance classes, for the duration of the pass.
  • Passes are prorated throughout the semester. Promotional or discount codes may be offered at the beginning of each semester and can be found on the description page for each pass

Summer Pass

  • Summer Recess Pass: Provides access to all Group Fitness Classes, including Mind & Body, Cycling, and Strength & Motion, during the Summer Recess session.

How to Purchase a Class Pass

Q: I have a Group Fitness Class Pass, how to I register for a class?

A: Once you have a Group Fitness Class Pass, you will need to sign up for a class on MyRec. Some classes have limited spots. Signing up ensures your spot. Signing up allows instructors to communicate with participants in event of an emergency cancellation.  Registration links for Group Fitness Classes can be found on MyRec.

Q: What if I do not see any class instances listed?

A: Only scheduled classes within a three (3) day period from today will appear below and be available for registration. (Don’t worry there will be additional classes beyond the three (3) day window! Check back soon and they will appear.)

Q: I registered for a Group Fitness Class and how I need to cancel. 

A: We ask if you cannot attend a class,  you cancel to help open spots for other participants. Especially in classes with limited space i.e. cycling classes. You can cancel your registration on MyRec.

If you plan on enrolling in a Group Fitness Class Pass, you will also need a PWG Membership. 

If you have a PWG Membership and would like to take a Group Fitness Class, then you will need to purchase a Group Fitness Class Pass.

Fitness & Wellness Program Guidelines & Policies

  • Participants are highly encouraged to arrive to class/session on time.  Due to the importance of a sufficient warm-up period, participants who arrive after the warm-up period may not be permitted entry to class. 
  • Participants are highly encouraged to stay for the entire duration of the class to ensure participation in the proper cool-down phase.
  • The Department of Campus Recreation reserves the right to adjust the schedule, class formats and instructors when necessary.
  • Participants must silence cell phones and may not use cell phones during class.
  • The Department of Campus Recreation reserves the right to deny/cancel enrollment/participation based on guidelines for Discipline, Suspension, and Loss of Privileges
  • Appropriate athletic footwear/attire is required at all times. Appropriate footwear is closed-toe, closed-heel non-marking athletic shoes. Sneakers are strongly recommended. Exceptions may be made for certain programs/activities. Hard-soled, closed-toe athletic shoes or cycling shoes are recommended for all spinning and indoor cycling classes.  Shoe removal may be appropriate in Yoga and/or certain dance formats, at the instructor’s discretion.

  • Members are encouraged to register online via MyRec.
  • In-person registration can be accommodated by scheduling an appointment with Membership Services.
  • Once registration is opened it will remain open until maximum class enrollments are reached. 
  • Maximum enrollment for each class is dependent on what equipment will be utilized for the class and to provide an effective environment for participants and the instructor.

Within 10 days of the first scheduled class, participants may cancel their registration and receive a 75% refund of the registration fee.

After 10 days from the first scheduled class, participants may request to cancel their registration and receive a 75% refund of the registration fee only with documentation from their healthcare provider stating that they can no longer participate in the class. Refunds will not be provided after this period without appropriate documentation from a healthcare provider.

Each semester, there will be a designated week for make-up classes that were rescheduled due to inclement weather or instructor cancellation. Refunds will not be provided for classes that are rescheduled. If classes are canceled and cannot be rescheduled, participants will receive a pro-rated refund based on the number of classes which were canceled. 

Within the 10 days of purchase of the Group Fitness Class Pass, members can cancel their registration and will be provided a prorated refund. 

After the 10th day of purchase of the Group Fitness Class Pass, members may request a prorated refund with documentation from their healthcare provider stating that they can no longer participate in Group Fitness Classes. Refunds are not provided without documentation from their healthcare provider.

Participants will not be refunded for classes canceled due to inclement weather or instructor cancellation unless the total number of canceled classes for the semester/summer exceeds 25% of the total number of scheduled classes.  In event of this scenario participants will receive a prorated refund. 

PWG Members may register for a 1-Week Free Trial Class Pass. 1-Week Free Trial Class Passes may only be purchased once by each member. 

1-Week Free Trial Class Passes are not available to those with a PWG Membership for Yale Conference & Event Services. 

If you wish to use this as a free trial for Group Fitness Class Passes you can use the promo code “tryit” at the time of purchase. This code can only be redeemed once by each member. 

Purchase a 1-Week Free Trial Membership

Refunds

  • Sessions must be redeemed within 180 days from the date of purchase. Unused sessions will not be refunded. 
  • If a client no longer wishes to continue with their Personal Trainer, they will be refunded for any remaining unused sessions. A $25 cancellation fee will be applied to their refund.

Session Cancellations

  • Session schedules will be developed by the client and Personal Trainer.
  • If a client needs to cancel a scheduled session they must provide notice at least 24 hours in advance, in writing, to their assigned Personal Trainer. Sessions canceled less than 24-hours in advance will not be refunded. (Decisions to provide refunds for emergency cancellations will be made by the Department of Campus Recreation on a case-by-case basis.)
  • If the Personal Trainer needs to cancel a scheduled session, they will provide their client notice at least 24 hours in advance. The Department of Campus Recreation may refund or provide additional sessions at no additional cost to sessions canceled within 24 hours.  

In the event of an Emergency or Extended Closure, the Department of Campus Recreation will base refunds on the guidelines outlined in the PWG Emergency and Extended Closures.
